7 nights and 8 days, Serranía de Ronda, Tarifa and Doñana
Go back to Nature Tours in Spain?

The area of the Serranía de Ronda and Sierra de Grazalema is breathtaking and the birds offer variety from those we will see as we journey southwards to Tarifa and later to the Doñana area.
This tour will combine these three areas.
The Serranía de Ronda and Sierra de Grazalema, is unique and an important area for European birds. Not only is the area rich in breeding species, some four different species of eagle nest here, but also because of its’ close proximity to the Straits of Gibraltar. It is an extremely important feeding area for migrant birds.
The Straits of Gibraltar are a key point of passage for raptors, storks and other birds migrating between Africa and Europe. Northern migrations take place between mid-February and June, while those birds heading south will set off between late July and early November when there's a westerly wind. Depending on the wind the Tarifa region on the Atlantic coast are usually the best to watch the migration. The migration at Tarifa is one of life’s wonders and a spectacle everyone should witness at least once in their lives.
The Parque Nacional de Doñana is well known for its enormous variety of bird species, either permanent residents, winter visitors from north and central Europe or summer visitors from Africa, like its numerous types of geese and colourful colonies of flamingo. It has one of the world's largest colonies of Spanish imperial eagles. The park as a whole comprises three distinct kinds of ecosystem: the marismas, the Mediterranean scrublands and the coastal mobile dunes with their beaches.
The tour is recommended for both expert and beginner.
