The Company for Quality Birding Holidays

Spanish Nature are different from other Companies offering birding Holidays on the following important points:

High quality and comfort of accommodation, food, transport and all other aspects of the tour are as important to us as the birding itself.

We provide alternative programs. Spanish Nature understands that when a couple travel together, sometimes one has less interest in the actual birding and prefers to enjoy other aspects of the visited holiday destination.

Travelling together as friends, this is our philosophy, because we want to enjoy the tour as much as you and we also want to be an integral part of the group.

Our birding guides are of an extremely high standard, maybe this is not necessary to say, but of course we want to assure you, that you will really see all possible birds.

Our Tours
Greater-FlamingoDue to special demand from several fellow travellers, we have designed a Birding Tour, for Photographers only. It should not be a surprise that for this first Photographers only tour we have chosen Andalucía, because Andalucía has it all, and of course it is on our own doorstep, we know how to provide the best opportunities! We will form 2 different groups; one group with an interchange of knowledge between the participants and one group lead by a Professional Wildlife Photographer. Price levels will be different, it all depends on your requirements. Follow the link to read all about it.

sieBirding in the Ronda area of Andalucia has produced unexpected results this year, not least some good news, Spanish Imperial Eagle and Black Stork both are thought to have bred and Long-legged Buzzard nested in the area. Andalusia has always been a great place to visit for birds, but the inland area of Ronda for birding has been outstanding. Moussier's Redstart, Little Swift, Alpine Chough, Wallcreeper and Rüppell's Vulture has featured amongst other birds in the Ronda mountains. Peter Jones recounts his spring and summer birding in the Ronda and surrounding areas.

Trip reports

The only thing predictable about Ecuador's weather is its unpredictability. In fact, it's not uncommon to experience all four seasons in a single day. This year we have chosen to do our trip in August, in the middle of the dry season, but in Ecuador the dry season can also be wet. Nevertheless we saw many beautiful birds, which combined with stunning scenery and high quality Lodges made this trip a fantastic experience. Next year we will go again. If you are interested please contact us. Follow the link to read the whole trip report.

Trip reports

kids_articleheaderOur most recent tour to Morocco’s Deep South was something different and special. Quite apart from the wildlife, we also concentrated on the Spanish Nature initiative of helping children understand their nature and also visiting a women’s cooperative to handout our goodies! We have been working in association with the Audubon Society and the Andalucia Bird Society to develop an education programme that focuses on birds, we have called it ‘A Bird a Week’, it is placed-based  learning that encourages children to gain knowledge of the local environment, thus empowering them to take an active role and interest in protecting it.

avocet1Peter Jones, our senior guide, has added 2 new day tour destinations to our itinerary here in Spain. Always an excellent day tour in the mountains of the Serranía de Ronda, Peter has now added 2 additional options for his many regular friends who might want a change of scenery and different experience. Steppe and wetlands figure high amid the alternative habitats on these new day tours with Great Bustard, Black-winged Kite and many other sought after species high on the probable list of species likely to be seen on these new routes. With so many repeating their days on the tours of the Ronda mountains, Peter thought he ought to give some alternative suggestions to his friends!
