1. Birding Days - Serrania de Ronda
A unique and diverse habitat
Whether you enjoy spectacular scenery or fauna and flora, then this personally guided tour of the Serranía de Ronda and Sierra de Grazalema is for you! With mountains and hills predominately of limestone, the bio-diversity of the Serranía and Sierras is stunning. From rocky outcrops, mountaintop and valleys, the tour will take you through some of the most breathtaking scenery in Spain. Birds of interest are virtually guaranteed, though of course time of year and the weather, will dictate the number and type of species you will see. Accompanied by your own expert tour guide, you will waste no time searching for those elusive ‘best bird areas’. Your guide will be able to assist beginners and discuss the area with visiting experienced birders. So whatever your level of expertise, there will be much to reward your trip.
2. Birding Days - Granada Province
A real wildlife experience
If you want to experience the real Spain or just escape from the hustle and bustle of the Costa’s, then come and enjoy a trip into the countryside of Granada Province. The tours are centred on the area to the west of the City of Granada in the area around Loja the provinces second largest town. Just an hour from the coast, this area has a fantastic mix of habitats, ranging from high mountain tops, reed beds, open water, woodland, scrub and agricultural plains. The province has something for every one, from the beginner just wishing to get to grips with the commoner birds, to the experienced lister looking for those hard to find species. Whatever your level of experience the local guide will be able to take you to the best sites, so that the beginner can see as wider range of species as possible and the more experienced birder can catch up with that elusive record.
3. Birding Days - Doñana and Huelva Province
The choice is yours
The province of Huelva is always ready to create unforgettable memories: the flight of cranes at dawn, the music of a waterfall by a footpath, the mysticism of a Moorish fortress, the gliding of a giant black vulture over our heads, the man who never existed, the last beam of sunlight of Andalusia, the announcement of the spring arrival by bee-eaters or the challenging look of a fighting bull are a minimal example of everything what Nature and the charming corners of Huelva offer us.
Coto Doñana is located in South-western Spain between the provinces of Seville, Cadiz and Huelva, though most of its territory is in the latter. Its privileged nature has granted world renown to it. At present there are near 110.000 hectares protected between National Park and Nature Reserve. For thousands of years humans have been living in the area and have transformed the landscape, creating the current Doñana.
4. Birding Days - Almería Province
Sierra Alhamilla and Andarax badlands

Bird species change with altitude and vegetation. During our Day Tour we will pass through the different habitats as: oak groves, pine groves, rocky mountains, desert gorges, badlands, ramblas or orchards in the typical village of Turrillas.
Spanish Nature are very happy to offer you a new destionation for birding Day Tours in Andalucia. The Province of Jaen offers some of the best wilderness landscapes in the whole of the Iberian Peninsula, and an abundance of nature to match. Jaen has the highest proportion of natural protected area in Spain. Our guide José Luis is a native of Jaen Province. His guiding couples a long-life enthusiasm for nature with unrivalled expert knowledge. We have designed 2 Day Tours to choose from (or perhaps it is better make time to do both).
The first tour visits Sierra de Cazorla - Spain's largest natural park. A real must! The second tour visits Sierra Magina, the domain of the Golden Eagle...
6. Day Tour - Castilla La Mancha
No other place in Spain offers such quality birding like the Almagro area in La Mancha. Located in the Ciudad Real province, in the centre of Spain and just in the border with Andalucia, 1.579.764 Ha. of protected areas await the visitor including 2 National Parks and the most outstanding steppe areas of Southern Spain. The Tablas de Daimiel N.P., one of fourteen Spain’s gems, can surprise the keen birdwatcher with superb views of endangered birds such as White-Headed Duck, Marbled Teal, Moustached Warbler, Bearded Tit or the witherby subspecies of the Reed Bunting. Moreover, the Calatrava area brings exciting chances for seeing the top five of the European steppe birds in just one day, namely Great & Little Bustard, Pin-Tailed & Black Belied Sandgrouse, or the cryptic Stone Curlew. The Calatrava Steppes are specially attractive in winter time, when the hypnotized eye of the visitor can enjoy with big flocks of several hundreds of Bustards and Sandgrouses together. Big Eagles, like Imperial, Golden & Bonelli’s, and Vultures as Griffon & Black complete the backdrop of the Ciudad Real province.
An area of great natural diversity
If you love scenery, flowers or just like to stroll amidst nature’s wonders, then this day tour is an opportunity to treat yourself to a great day out! Accompanied by a local guide you will visit areas unlikely to be found on your own. There is no substitute for local knowledge and conditions, so you will be able to find those elusive plant species and at the same time be surrounded by some of the most stunning scenery that Spain has to offer. With a plant list of almost 2000 species, the area is incredibly diverse. Limestone, sedimentary and sandy soils make for a spectacular array of plant life. The two main parks around the centrally located town of Ronda exceed 150,000 hectares of wild space with both parks enjoying the status of UNESCO Biosphere reserves. The pace of these day tours are relaxed and designed to introduce the visitor to the natural wonders of this truly beautiful part of Spain.
8. Spain - 3 days Short Breaks
Serrania de Ronda and ... your choice

9. Spring Birding Tour Southern Spain
The "Classic southern Spanish birding tour" visiting two of the richest birding areas in Europe. On this spring tour, we cover a rich variety of landscape and habitats travelling from the mouth of the Rio Guadalquivir in Huelva province’s Atlantic coast, to the Rio Guadarranque that flows down from the sierras to the Mediterranean.
The Doñana National Park, which we will visit during the first 3 days, covers almost half a million acres and is one of the most important wetlands in Europe and is home to an abundance of wildlife, in particular resident and migratory birds. The unspoilt Costa de la Luz, will be the area where we will spend the next four days, exploring the very best birding sites inland.
10. Raptor Migration Strait of Gibraltar
An ornithological holiday in which you will see one of the most fantastic sights in raptor migrations. Thousands of raptors and other bird species often fly and soar across the short crossing from mainland Europe to the continent of Africa each day. Each autumn we have over 600,000 recorded birds passing through what is essentially a funnel at the southern tip of Spain. We have over 80 recorded migratory species of which there are over 190,000 raptors making the journey across to Africa! Raptors, more than any other family of birds, exhibit massive, visible, and far-ranging migrations, while their diversity and abundance in many places are critical indicators of the health of ecosystems.
11. Spain - From Mountains to Doñana
Serrania de Ronda, Tarifa and Doñana

12. Spain - Photographers Paradise
Most attractive birding sites in Andalucía
Due to special demand from several fellow travellers, we have designed a Birding Tour, for Photographers only. It should not be a surprise that for this first Photographers only tour we have chosen Andalucía, because Andalucía has it all, and of course it is on our own doorstep, we know how to provide the best opportunities!
We will form 2 different groups; one group with an interchange of knowledge between the participants and one group lead by a Professional Wildlife Photographer. Price levels will be different, it all depends on your requirements.
